In this blog, we will be bringing you up-to-date Tivoli Auto Services May news.
End of the road for the Volkswagen Golf
Firstly, in this Tivoli Auto Services May news, production of the VW Golf is coming to an end. The German manufacturer is to concentrate on electric cars, rather than the petrol-powered Golf – one of their most successful ranges.
As a Volkswagen specialist, we will ensure your (soon-to-be classic) Golf remains roadworthy. We offer a full range of car services including MOT, service, health checks, repairs and bodywork; and we source genuine Volkswagen parts.
Is your car air conditioning ready for summer?
Now we are in May, it’s time to look forward to the warmer summer months. Are you planning a long car journey that might be on a hot summer’s day. Imagine if your air conditioning stops working on such a hot day!
To prevent a rather uncomfortable journey, ensure the air conditioning in your car has a service. You can read more about the vehicle air conditioning service at Tivoli Auto Services.
Potholes can cause damage to your car!
Potholes created from freezing weather conditions last December caused a substantial increase in the number of cars with damages. For example, shock absorbers, broken suspension springs, and distorted wheels.
As potholes are a potential road hazard, the RAC website has a page on the website where you can report a pothole.
If you suffer damage to your car we can even pick it up if a pothole has caused the vehicle to break down.
Is your car fit for a king?
With the coronation of King Charles III this month, there is an enormous amount of preparation for the procession where, alongside the historic state coaches, a number of royal vehicles may also be included; as they were during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral procession.
There are 5 state cars used by the Royal family, 2 Bentleys and 3 Rolls Royces, which all receive the best car maintenance and are beautifully polished to ensure they run impeccably.
Don’t ‘brake’ down this bank holiday!
With 3 bank holidays during May, the number of vehicles enjoying leisure trips out means the roads can be particularly busy. You won’t want your car to let you down on your well-earned extra day off. Make sure your car is regularly serviced and that the brakes are in full working order so you can enjoy your day trips out safely.
Motorway litter louts
Maintaining our roads and our cars should be important to us all. By regular servicing, we will keep our cars safe on the roads, therefore ourselves and fellow road users
We’ve all seen litter by the side of the roads and steadily increasing; piling up and becoming an eye-sore on the landscape. Not visually appealing – and not eco-friendly either.
Is your car at risk of being stolen to order?
There has been an increase in car criminals using cheap tracking devices to steal cars.
Thieves plant a tracking device inside or underneath a car, which they can then use to track and monitor the location of the car and then steal the vehicle.
The tracking device has to be within 20 metres of a mobile phone, meaning criminals can easily monitor a car, then move in to steal in, usually once the owner has parked.

Councils propose new enforcement fines for yellow box junction infringements
According to reports by the RAC, some 27 local authorities have applied to enforce traffic moving offences, but there are issues leading to drivers being unfairly fined.
The purpose of yellow box junctions is to prevent the blocking of cross or through traffic movements.
The biggest issues with box junctions relate to visibility and size. If visibility is unclear, the driver may not know where the box begins and ends. If the box does not protect the cross movement, it serves no purpose.
Make sure you don’t get fined. Read more about yellow boxes guidelines from the Yellow Box Guru.
Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular in the UK.
Lastly, in Tivoli Auto Services May news, while cars have generally been increasing in size, the electric vehicle could reverse this trend. As technology advances, the battery size may get smaller and take up less room than a bulky internal combustible engine in a petrol-powered car.
This means the overall car could become smaller. Making parking easier – amen to that!
